Stone Hearth Estates

     Just before the 2023 basketball season began Coach Tim Strauser contacted Stone Hearth to see if we would be interested in being an outreach project for the girls basketball team. We were thrilled with the invitation!

     Starting with decorations our Swede seniors found treats and upbeat words of inspiration on their lockers. We followed with Facebook cheers and "Fan on a Stick". Hey, what's "Fan on a Stick"? See our pictures in the slideshow! The girls responded, we got to go to games and Coronation. We even heard that the boys used our "Fans" in game cheers.

     In January Stone Hearth sponsored a "Meet & Greet" for our five seniors. The girls were presented with Swede scarves and of course more candy. A most unexpected highlight was having one of our own senior basketball girls, Logan Hilbers, become Coronation Queen. Later Logan came to Stone Hearth to thank us for our good luck card and then surprised a few guys with a 'Kiss on the cheek from our Queen'!

     We followed up with a pep rally before Conference finals. The Swede bus pulled into Stone Hearth with 29 basketball players, coaches and support staff in attendance. But truly, it wouldn't have been a pep rally without the cheerleaders, Taylor Garza and Adi Bartels helping out! 

     For District Finals we decorated our Stone Hearth bus using signs, pompoms, and lots of honking to send the girls off to finals.

Little did we know how five senior lady Swede basketball players and their teammates would make such a difference in our lives. Their presence in our building and interaction with people that live here have brought smiles, laughs, and fun. Thank you Lady Swedes and the best of luck from your Senior Swede Fans!
